Frequently Asked Questions

Find answers to the most common questions about OnPool Pool (BTC, BCH, LTC+DOGE, XMR) — setup, payouts, PPLNS, SOLO, fees and more.

Getting Started

Use the stratum URL: stratum+tcp://btc.onpool.net:3344
Username: YourWalletAddress.YourMinerName
Password: x or optional static difficulty: d=xxx

Registration is not required. Simply configure your miner and start mining. Your first submitted share will automatically register you with our pool. Good luck!

OnPool supports all SHA-256 ASIC miners (Antminer S19/S21, Whatsminer, etc.) as well as small devices like Bitaxe 601, NerdAxe and NerdMiner. Each device has a dedicated port optimised for its hashrate range. See the Connect page for port details.

About the Pool

OnPool charges a transparent fee per coin across all PPLNS and SOLO pools — among the lowest in the market. No hidden charges. Current fees: BTC SOLO 1.00% / PPLNS 1.50% · BCH SOLO 1.00% / PPLNS 1.50% · LTC SOLO 1.00% / PPLNS 1.50% · XMR SOLO 1.00% / PPLNS 1.00%

You can mine Bitcoin (BTC), Bitcoin Cash (BCH), Litecoin (LTC) with merged Dogecoin (DOGE) mining, and Monero (XMR) — all available in PPLNS and SOLO modes. Switch between pools at any time by pointing your miner to the appropriate stratum URL.

PPLNS (Pay Per Last N Shares): rewards are shared among all miners proportionally to their contributed shares. Steady, predictable income.
SOLO: you mine alone — if your miner finds the block, you keep the full reward (minus fee). High-risk, high-reward. Best suited for high-hashrate miners.

Payouts

Each coin has its own minimum payout threshold: BTC 0.0005 · BCH 0.15 · LTC 0.7 · XMR 0.1. Payments are processed automatically every 2 hours once you reach it.

Your balance appears after the pool finds a block and it matures. Once your balance reaches the minimum payout, it is automatically sent to your wallet. As a small pool, block times may be longer — but total rewards are statistically equal over time.

All our mining pools use the PPLNS (Pay Per Last N Shares) payment system. Your earnings are based on the shares you contribute over a period, not just one round.

Technical

Pool and miner hash rates are recalculated every ten minutes. The hash rate we display is a rough approximation based on submitted shares and can differ from your local miner reading. When in doubt, always consider the value displayed by your miner as the correct one.

Yes. All pools offer both plain TCP and encrypted TLS/SSL stratum connections. SSL ports start with stratum+ssl:// and use dedicated port ranges. Encryption protects your shares from man-in-the-middle attacks on untrusted networks.

BTC: stratum+tcp://btc.OnPool.net | BCH: stratum+tcp://bch.OnPool.net. Ports vary by device and mode — see the full port guide for Bitaxe, NerdAxe and ASIC rigs.

Pay Per Last N Shares (PPLNS) rewards loyal miners. It calculates your payout based on shares you submitted during the "shift" when a block was found. Pool hoppers are effectively penalised in long rounds.

Community & Accounts

Every new account must confirm its e-mail address before it can log in. After you register we send a link (valid for 24 hours; please check your spam folder). The confirmation protects the forum and the teams from fake accounts, and it is the only way we can reach you about your account. Did the link expire? Try to log in and use "Send the confirmation link again". If you change your e-mail address later, it has to be confirmed again.

Everyone can read the forum, even without an account. To write you need a confirmed e-mail address. The first posts of a new account are checked by a moderator before they appear, new accounts cannot post links yet, and Bitcoin addresses or e-mail addresses are never allowed in posts. Use the language filter (All / EN / DE / TR) on a board and the Help button at the top of the forum for details.

A team is a group of friends who mine together. The pool still pays every member to their own address; a team never holds money. A team adds shared statistics, a block ledger that shows what the team received in each block, an optional team forum run by the team leader, and a place in the league. Any registered member with a confirmed e-mail address and a verified mining address can found a team and invite friends with a link. The leader decides whether new members need approval; the member limit can be raised on request. Teams work on the BTC PPLNS pool only (port 3344, TLS 3345); hashrate on the SOLO ports does not count for a team.

In your dashboard press Verify this address. You get a temporary user name like YourAddress.claim-xxxxxxxxxxxx. Connect any miner (a Bitaxe is enough) to the pool with it for about a minute; the address is confirmed automatically. No keys or signatures are needed and nothing is paid. An address can belong to one account and one team at a time.

In the team league teams compete on real work: their average hashrate over a whole season. Teams are ranked overall and in three size classes. There is no prize money; the winners receive a gold badge that is shown next to the team name. To be ranked a team needs enough active members and a fair split of the work, so that nobody can win with a single big machine.

A team forum is moderated by its team leader and by the helpers the leader appoints; the main forum is moderated by the onpool.net team. Moderators approve the first posts of new accounts, handle reports and can pin, lock or remove posts. You become a moderator by founding a team (you need a confirmed e-mail address and a verified mining address) or when a leader makes you a helper. Leaders can remove helpers at any time.
